Dead Sea Skin Care Include Vitamin C
Vitamin C is a powerful water-soluble antioxidant. Unlike other mammals (with the exception of apes and guinea pigs), human beings do not produce vitamin C in their bodies.
Types of vitamin C:
There are two types of vitamin C:
· Ascorbic acid, excesses of which are flushed from the body within three hours
· Ester-C, which dissolves in the body over an eight-hour period
Vitamin is the most unstable of all vitamins. It easily oxidizes, and its strength is damaged by exposure to light, heat and air, which stimulate its oxidizing enzymes.
Amounts of vitamin in the body decrease as a result of:
· taking aspirin.
· using birth-control pills.
· taking pain-killers.
· smoking.
· cooking.
Sliced and cut vegetables loose up to 50% of their vitamin C within three hours.
